Shows the making of a simple trap to catch water bugs and other things. Catch fish as well as crayfish, yabbies, shrimp, minnow, worms, leeches, snails from river, swamp or dam for fun, study or fishing bait. plastic bottle light trap.
This trap I had initially “invented” to help with a university assignment that required the capture and classification of a range of fauna, worked very well.

Tip from samimy:
search google for (Elekit)
the water bottle size doesn’t matter, even the big bottle
of water you see in the market (2 litters) they work, because
it is light, not heavy.
so size of the bottle doesn’t matter.
weight: make sure it is empty.
and the solar board size, you should choose the size based on your
motor.
see if your motor needs 2 volts, you should use a 2 volt solar panel,
or if your motor is 3 volt, do the same, find a 3 volt out put solar panel.
the physical size doesn’t matter, little big or small, it is okay.
use tires as much as lighter, not heavy is better.

If you want to run your house on solar or wind power you have to start with getting your home as energy efficient as possible. I am running a hybrid system that incorperates solar,wind and a grid interactive battery backup system. The diesel generator ties it all together in the event of a long term power outage.

This is part 2 and covers the basics for beginners + The cells I am using are all broken cells I purchased for a discount from Ebay. They were all fully pre-tabbed cells. They are the long tab or fully tabbed NOT the clipped tabs. This panel will cost about $60 completed and requires about 1-3 hours of work + resin embedding cure times which are best applied overnight. I’ve updated my system with 2 more batteries that will give me 440 amp hours, added some wood planks for more support on my shelf, a 60 amp breaker, and some small emergency lighting. Overall I believe this system will support my needs for a true emergency backup system providing hours of emergency power.

I made this small 12 volt 4 LED (approx. 1w) solar emergency /general purpose light for the bedroom. I used a CD case as the housing for the light. It is powered by a 1.8w solar panel and a 7.5 amp hour battery. The solar charge controller has a timer function to control the LED and is programmable. I can make adjustments to the light output by adding more LEDs or a bigger solar panel if necessary. Google LED calculator for wiring and resistors needed.
